Recently, I got in a review unit of the Sennheiser HD-1 MK2 headphones. To get to the point, it was one of the most enjoyable listening experiences I’ve had in a long time.

The sennheiser’s (left) come in at around $250 while my personal favorite, the Audio Technica ATH-M50’s (right) run $160. The Sennheiser’s earcups rest on ear (supra-aural) while the Audio Technica’s offer a circumaural (over the ear) design. Both are “closed-back” designs which attribute to the great isolation. I Highly recommend both of these headphones for accurate, professional audio applications. Both are worth every penny and deliver a precise, flat response with great isolation.

Update: The Sennheiser’s can be found cheaper at $180 with their “basic” edition (no carry bag or extra set of ear cups) at www.junorecords.com
