Jimmy M. has been in the restaurant business for over 30 years! After running a successful diner, he opened another restaurant that focused on serving delicious pizza and Italian specialties with high quality ingredients.
When he approached us, he simply was not happy with the website another company designed for him. While that company did do some effective branding work that included a logo and some copywriting, we too agreed the website was not a strong visual representation of his business.
Before getting started, we analyzed the existing branding and focused on things that were done right and removed everything else. We created a new color palette that not only complemented his logo, but also added better contrast and visual appeal. This process is similar to how a chef tries to perfect a signature pizza sauce by adjusting ingredients until… perfection! When you have the right core ingredients from the start, it’s easier to make something great as you have a solid foundation to expand upon.
In regards to the website, we did a complete overhaul. The design we implemented looked great, and we made sure the software powering the website ran leaner and faster than before.
When it comes to restaurants, great food photography is essential. We recommended a photo shoot to highlight some of the menu’s popular signature items. The final edited photos were so powerful they make you look twice when you come across them online. The goal of having a website that’s a strong representation of the business was finally starting to take shape.
We could have stopped there, but now that the site was built – how were people going to know about it? That’s where Search Engine Optimization, also known as SEO, is key. While there are many different ways to improve a website’s visibility online, we always recommend asking Google to index the website. In other words, we reach out to Google and inform them that the new website exists and that we want it to start appearing in search engine results.
Jimmy also opted for a website care plan to remove the hassle of ongoing website maintenance. This allows him to stay focused on his business and customers while we take great care of his website. Over time, we also have made additional improvements like claiming and optimizing online business listings to further enhance The Rusty Onion’s online presence.
One thing is certain; Jimmy works hard to maintain a high level of customer service – but he doesn’t stop there. We take the same approach when it comes to websites.
